Introduction
Great news for the drone community! This weekend, the House Rules Committee released the text of the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), and we’re thrilled to announce that the controversial Countering CCP Drones Act language has been excluded from the final version of the bill.
This major win is thanks to the unwavering efforts of the Drone Advocacy Alliance (DAA) and its supporters, who worked tirelessly to protect the U.S. drone ecosystem from unnecessary restrictions.
What’s Next for the NDAA

With the final text released, the House and Senate are expected to pass the compromise version this week. Once approved, the bill will move to the President’s desk for signature, marking the conclusion of a long battle to secure a fair outcome for the drone industry.
While the NDAA does include some language that opponents are trying to frame as similar to the Countering CCP Drones Act, it is fundamentally different. The included language calls for a rigorous security assessment based on facts and science—not fear-mongering or hypothetical risks.
We are confident that this thorough review will validate what many have said all along: the drones used every day do not pose a security risk.
Updates from Priority 1 Drones

As we celebrate this policy win, we also want to address challenges Priority 1 Drones and other distributors have been facing. Recently, U.S. Customs issues have caused delays in receiving DJI drones, impacting product availability. We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding during this time and remain optimistic that the situation will resolve soon.
If you’d like to stay on a waitlist or backorder list for certain DJI products—or if you’d like a quote on other options—we have a wide range of alternatives available to meet your needs.
In addition, we’ve noticed an increase in European and Chinese variations of DJI drones entering the U.S. through some distributors and third-party dealers. These non-American models may not meet U.S. specifications, which could lead to compatibility issues. To avoid such risks, we strongly recommend purchasing drones from a trusted, reputable dealer like Priority 1 Drones.
A Moment to Celebrate

This exclusion of the Countering CCP Drones Act is a monumental victory for the U.S. drone industry. Together, advocates have demonstrated the power of collective effort in shaping policy and safeguarding the future of drones in America.
As the situation develops, the Drone Advocacy Alliance will continue to provide updates and guidance. For now, let’s celebrate this win and the progress made toward a brighter future for the drone community.
Thank you for standing with us. Here’s to many more successes ahead!
